Pre Trip testing
Southampton Harley-Davidson kindly let me go out on one of their bikes for the afternoon.
For me this was the first time riding a Harley, and I found it easy to ride.
Thankfully the sun shone, the rain held off, and we were able to complete about 55 miles, via Hythe, Exbury, Lepe (where we stopped for tea) then Blackfield, Beaulieu, Lyndhusrt, Ashurst and back to Millbrook.
So this bike was a 2011 model Heritage Softail Classic - pretty much the same as the 2012 model that we've got booked for the trip - the 2012 model's engine is increased from 1584cc to 1690cc !
