Organisation

Our tour is an organised tour, where we will be part of a group of other like-minded couples and indiividuals travelling the road together. I'm expecting about a dozen bikes.

Leading the way will be a tour guide, leading on a HD bike, and bringing up the rear will be the 'support vehicle' which will carry all our luggage, cold drinks, and even a spare bike, just in case.

So long as we stay between the leader and the rear support vehicle we shouln't get left behind anywhere!

 The tour is organised by a company based at Overton (near Reading) called H.C. Travel, who take care of ...

• The flights
• All the accommodation
• The bike hire
• Transfers to/from Airport and to Milwaukee
• Entrance to The HD museum and various parks and attractions along the way (I think)

HCT have also arranged for us to take the (optional) helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon

All we have to do is

• Buy our own meals, drinks and so on
• Buy fuel (at about $3 a gallon) and oil (probably won't need any I think)

Our route sticks to the trail of the old Mother Road except for...

• A day ride out to  the Grand Canyon and back
• A detour via Las Vegas for one night
